Eric Fallows, Ph.D. is an accomplished innovator in the medical device industry with 15 years of experience in technology development and strategic innovation. At Becton Dickinson (BD), he leads a team that identifies new innovation opportunities for BD’s segments covering discovery, diagnostics, and delivery of care. Eric has a strong track record of innovation success with 20 patents, 15 scientific publications, and he has led early-stage work for many products in BD’s pipeline. He also leads technology scouting efforts which have resulted in several early- to mid-stage innovations being evaluated by BD.
Eric has a deep technical background with a Ph.D. in chemistry and a post-doc at Naval Research Lab developing new laser diagnostic methods. Driven by a passion for understanding and addressing top challenges in healthcare, Eric applies needs-based innovation processes (e.g. Biodesign) to ensure unmet need, value proposition, and market opportunity are well-understood early in the process. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to early-stage medical device companies to help drive advancements and foster growth in the field.
He lives in Apex with his entrepreneur wife, sports-loving son, dance-loving daughter, and family-favorite mini labradoodle.
